Winter Workshop: Still-Life Drawing Class with Helen Byers

Using Fruitlands Museum collections as inspiration, students will build and hone drawing skills in our new art class by local artist Helen Byers. Still-life subjects will be objects borrowed from Fruitlands’ rich collections — Native American pottery, Shaker bentwood boxes, nineteenth-century market baskets and more. Explore the effects of traditional media including charcoal, graphite, and Conte crayons on paper as you learn the basics of drawing techniques, composition, line, proportion and value.
